These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Me.Mentor platform, including all associated websites, applications, software, tools, and services (collectively, the “Platform”).

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Platform.


1. Company Information

Me.Mentor is operated by Me.Mentor, Inc., a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Delaware (“Me.Mentor,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Me.Mentor provides technology infrastructure that enables school- and institution-led mentorship programs. Me.Mentor does not operate mentorship programs directly.


2. Platform Purpose and Allocation of Responsibility

Me.Mentor provides a configurable digital platform that allows schools, districts, colleges, universities, and education-affiliated organizations (“Institutional Partners” or “Schools”) to design, operate, and manage their own mentorship programs.

2.1 School Responsibility

Each School is solely responsible for:

  • Recruiting and selecting mentors

  • Vetting mentors, including determining whether and how to conduct background checks

  • Onboarding, training, monitoring, and supervising mentors

  • Establishing mentorship program rules, expectations, and safeguards

  • Managing participant access, discipline, offboarding, suspension, or termination

Me.Mentor does not:

  • Recruit, select, or assign mentors or mentees

  • Conduct background checks on behalf of Schools

  • Supervise mentorship relationships

  • Control day-to-day program operations

  • Guarantee program, academic, or career outcomes

2.2 Optional Guidance and Resources

Me.Mentor may provide complimentary, optional resources (including playbooks, templates, or best-practice guidance) to support Schools in developing and operating mentorship programs.

  • Use of these resources is entirely optional

  • They are not mandated

  • Me.Mentor bears no responsibility for outcomes related to a School’s decision to use or not use such resources


3. User Types

Users of the Platform may include:

  • Student Mentees (minors or adults)

  • Mentors

  • School administrators or staff

  • Authorized institutional representatives

All Users must use the Platform solely for lawful, educational, and mentorship-related purposes.


4. Eligibility and Age Requirements

4.1 Minimum Age

Users must be at least 13 years old to access or use the Platform.

Users under 18 years of age are considered minors.

4.2 Minor Participation and Consent

For Schools with minor participants:

  • Schools are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining any required parental or guardian consent

  • Consent mechanics are handled entirely by the School

  • Me.Mentor does not collect or manage parental consent artifacts unless expressly agreed in writing

Me.Mentor relies on Schools to ensure compliance with applicable child protection and education laws.


5. FERPA and Educational Records

Where applicable, Me.Mentor acts as a “School Official” under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) with a legitimate educational interest in student data necessary to provide the Platform.

Me.Mentor:

  • Uses student data only to operate, maintain, and improve the Platform

  • Accesses only the minimum data necessary

  • Does not sell student data

Specific FERPA obligations and data access limitations may be further defined in School agreements.


6. Privacy and Personal Information

6.1 Data Minimization

Me.Mentor intentionally limits the personal information it collects and processes.

Data may include:

  • Mentor names, email addresses, and self-provided profile information

  • Student identifiers required for Platform functionality

  • Scheduling and communication metadata

  • Platform usage and security logs

6.2 Third-Party Services

The Platform may integrate third-party services (e.g., scheduling, video conferencing, analytics). Use of such services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.


7. Data Retention

Me.Mentor retains personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide the Platform

  • Comply with applicable federal laws and regulations

  • Maintain system security and integrity

  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

7.1 Alignment With School Requirements

Data retention periods:

  • Are designed to align with applicable federal law (including FERPA, where applicable)

  • May be modified or further restricted by written agreement with a School

  • May vary based on state, local, or institutional requirements

Upon termination of a School’s agreement, Me.Mentor will handle data in accordance with the applicable School agreement and governing law.


8. Student Safety and Platform Integrity

8.1 School-Led Safety Obligations

Schools are responsible for:

  • Implementing mentor vetting and screening processes

  • Incorporating background checks where appropriate, particularly for programs involving minors

  • Training mentors on mandatory reporter obligations and institutional policies

  • Monitoring mentor-mentee interactions

Me.Mentor strongly encourages Schools to adopt robust safety practices.

8.2 Me.Mentor Oversight Authority

To protect Platform security and stakeholder safety, Me.Mentor may, at its discretion:

  • Monitor platform activity

  • Review communications

  • Investigate reported concerns

  • Restrict, suspend, or remove access to the Platform

Such actions do not transfer program responsibility from the School to Me.Mentor.


9. Communication Rules

9.1 On-Platform Communication

Mentorship-related communication should occur within the Platform.

9.2 Off-Platform Communication

For minors (ages 13–17):

Off-platform communication is strictly prohibited unless:

  • Explicitly requested or approved by the School and

  • Approved by the parent or legal guardian

For adult users (18+):

  • Off-platform communication is strongly discouraged

  • Me.Mentor is not responsible for interactions occurring outside the Platform


10. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:

  • Engage in sexual, romantic, or inappropriate conduct with minors

  • Harass, intimidate, exploit, or coerce other users

  • Attempt to bypass School oversight or Platform safeguards

  • Share personal contact information with minors

  • Use the Platform for unlawful, harmful, or deceptive purposes

Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination and reporting to Schools or authorities where appropriate.


11. Training Partner Services

Me.Mentor may offer optional paid services delivered by third-party organizations (“Me.Mentor Training Partners”).

  • These services are governed by separate agreements

  • Training Partners are independent entities

  • Me.Mentor does not supervise or guarantee Training Partner services


12. Intellectual Property

All Platform software, content, designs, trademarks, and materials are owned by Me.Mentor or its licensors.

Users are granted a limited, revocable license to use the Platform solely for its intended purposes.


13. Suspension and Termination

Me.Mentor may suspend or terminate access to the Platform:

  • To protect student safety

  • To maintain Platform security or integrity

  • At the request of a School

  • To comply with legal obligations


14. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Me.Mentor:

  • Does not guarantee mentorship, academic, or career outcomes

  • Does not provide medical, mental health, legal, or admissions advice

  • Is not responsible for program design or implementation decisions made by Schools


15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Me.Mentor shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • Total liability shall not exceed $100 or the amount paid to Me.Mentor, whichever is less


16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Me.Mentor from claims arising from:

  • Your misuse of the Platform

  • Violations of these Terms

  • Failure to comply with School policies or applicable law


17. Arbitration and Governing Law

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis.

  • Class and representative actions are waived

  • Arbitration is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act

  • Governing law: State of Delaware

Nothing in this section limits a School’s right to seek injunctive relief related to student safety or data protection.


18. Modifications

Me.Mentor may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
